FAMILY'S THANK YOU LETTER NOTES 'DADDY'S GOLDEN TICKET TO RECOVERY'

Your generous gift of air fare for me and my granddaughter, Taylor May R., is deeply appreciated. Genuine compassion is a rare gift, and your gift will bless many. We will be flying to Washington, D.C. tomorrow to reunite Taylor with her parents. I will stay for a week and help with her care and transition.

The first to benefit will be Specialist David Regan. He is currently recovering from a head wound he received while on duty in Iraq. Our daughter (Katie) and David's mother and father flew to Germany to be with him. Now, they are with him at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Katie has called their daughter, "Daddy's golden ticket to recovery."

Next, the benefit will be deeply felt by my daughter. She had to make the difficult decision to leave her two-month-old daughter in our care to be with her husband in his critical condition. They have been separated for three weeks, and it is tearing at her heart.

Finally, the benefit to Taylor is beyond knowing. It has been my privilege to care for her and help the family out in this way. Yet the strain on her family, through their separation, is apparent. She is a beautiful, healthy child who needs time with her parents, now that her daddy is recovering. You are providing that.
