Thank you for your continued support of the hopes and dreams of this area's young people. I intend to represent the values your organization epitomizes, as well as the defining moral characteristics SFC Lance Scott Cornett, the man for whom my scholarship is named, demonstrated throughout a fine career culminating in valiant combat efforts in Iraq.

Although I have declared Political Science my major, Yale offers a unique opportunity to base my education in a liberal arts curriculum spanning many subjects. I will study two foreign languages, French and Arabic, as preliminary actions in specializing my degree in Middle Eastern studies. I look forward to being a part of a thriving intellectual community that encourages each of these interests.
